This piece is an interpretation of the famous Soviet children’s television opener ‘Merry Carousel’.

The artists have loosely reconstructed this fragile yet deep-rooted childhood image by not only using their own fictitious characters, but also adapting it to the personal perceptions of their native cultural background and contemporary character design scene.

The artwork is an entirely digital 3D rendering featuring a unique effect alluding to brush strokes that is caused by insufficient computing data. While generally speaking such a result is undesirable and not applicable in the professional domain, the artists have ventured to utilize it as an artistic means. Absent from any attempt to simulate real media, this piece becomes the artists’ celebration of computer art at its full, natural, digital beauty.
